This train came up from Eastleigh on Thursday 16-04-2009 to Wembley Yard. On Friday 17th it went to Gt Chesterford as 5Z76 ECS move. Left Wembley at 8.09am (via Seven Sisters).This train then made up the 1Z76 10.58am to Torquay charter. Route was via Cambridge (reverse) Brimsdown - Acton - Reading - Taunton & Dawlish.Then 5Z77 Torquay to Kingswear (for Drtmouth). On Monday it did the reverse of Friday as 5Z76 Kingswear to Torquay. Then 1Z76 11.10am Torquay to Cambridge but via Seven Sisters and not Brimsdown and last of all 5Z77 18.10pm to Eastleigh.
Train was made up of 67005 - 9520 - 3384 - 3397 - 3426 - 3348 - 1842 - 3356 - 3330 - 3364 - 3390 - 17077 and 67029

I drive a van for a living but becouse of the weather I did not get out much today. When I did I stopped at Wharf Road level crossing (Turnford) and just to the north of Ponders End station. On Friday 06-02-2009 I stopped of at Welham Green for a few pictures in the snow.

Monday 26-01-2009 1Q18 Derby RTC to Ilford EMU depot.08.35am off Derby via Peterborough Ely Cambridge to London Liverpool street. Then Liverpool street to Enfield Town to Liverpool street Then out to Ilford.
Tuesday 27-01-2009. 10.08am Ilford EMU depot to Liverpool street. Then Liverpool street to Hertford East via Bury street junction and back. Next trip to Chingford and back. With last trip of day to Southend Victoria and back to Ilford EMU depot.

Class 950 No 950001 (999600 + 999601) is a Track Assessment Unit

On Saturday 20th December 2008 class 52 No D1015 WESTERN CHAMPION was used to pull the 1Z82 09.51am Liverpool Street to Great Yarmouth (Pathfinder Tours/D.T.G) (EWS) .Time to pass Cheshunt was 10.32am it passed at 10.23am 9 min early. It then ran as 1Z82 Great Yarmouth to Norwich service. On its final leg it ran as 1Z83 Norwich to London Liverpool Street. Train was made up of D1015 - 5276 - 5366 - 5292 - 5008 - 4998 - 1813 - 3144 - 3147 - 80041 - 3121 & 35469.

Rail Head Treatment Train of 2008.

I went up to New Zealand bridge to see 6233 Duchess of Sutherland on the 1A62 06.11am Sheffield to Kings Cross charter. After this train I continued on up to the Nene Valley railway to see 56311 & 56312. As it was a nice day I then went over to the ECML at Marholm (Peterborough) A first for me at this location.

On 24-08-2008 went to Rail Power at Barrow Hill roundhouse. On the way back stopped of at Toton Diesel depot and at the Great Central railway to see Tornado but could not get on to Loughborough station as it was Thomas week end and you could not get a platform ticket on this day did get a few pictures of the home diesel fleet. So went over to the Nene Valley Railway instead.

I spent a few days in Wales. On Wednesday 13-08-2008 went to Taffs Well just out side Cardiff for some Valley line services. On Thursday 14-08-2008 went in to Cardiff and on Friday 15-08-2008 went to Newport for a few hours.

A4 60019 BITTERN on the IZ12 06.48am Kings Cross to Edinburgh 5 day steam charter.

I first saw 86215 at junction 26 on the M25 at 4.30pm. I caught her up at Potters Bar and came off at South Mimms to take a few pictures as she came by. Sorry for the quality off the pictures.

The 8th December was the last day of G.N.E.R. services and also the last day of the G.N. RHTT water cannon train with E.W.S. class 66, Also on this day there were two specials .

IZ86 departed Bounds Green depot at 12.29pm and was made up of 86101 + Mark 3 coaches 11031 - 10202 - 12038 - 12014 and 12043 with 87022 on the rear of the train. Seen from Bowes Park.

A day at Bekonscot Model Village. To see the model railway which is Gauge 1. Bekonscot is the worlds oldest model village. Located in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire and opened in 1929.

My son and I went to the National Railway Museum at York and also stopped off at Doncaster on the way back to London. A big thank you to Mick Barstow who we went with.

The first Eurostar seen by myself on the new Temple Mills Eurostar Depot was on 28-02-2007, 3309/3310 + one unidentified unit. These units had left the depot by 05-03-2007. 3309/3310 were back on depot on 12-03-2007 with 66225 and a barrier vehicle at the south end of the depot.

Built 1993 - 1996 by Brush Traction at Loughorough.

Arrived at 12.54pm. In the head shunt was 43008 + 43109. At 12.54pm 91111 arrived on platform 2 light engine. 313045 + 313035 arrived at platform 1 with a train to Moorgate. The HST left for Bounds Green Depot at 12.58pm, 91111 moved in to the head shunt at 12.59pm, then moved off to the depot at 1.04pm. 313043 + 313042 arrived at platform 2 with the 1.12pm to Letchworth train followed by 66567 on the (4E24) from Grain to Leeds and just as I was leaving, 313055 arrived on platform 1 with the 1.18pm to Moorgate.

Area of use is Glasgow suburban.

There are three types of class 455:
455/7=5701-5742+5750, 455/8=5801-5874, 455/9=5901-5920.

Used by South West Trains. Limited use now.

New units for use by Gatwick Express.

Class 465 are split into four sub Classes.
465/0 =465001 - 465050 built by BREL/ABB, 465/1 = 465151 - 465197 built by BREL/ABB, 465/2 = 465201 - 465250 built by Metro-Cammell and then in 2005/06 465201 - 465234 were refurbished to 465901 - 465934 for use on longer distance services.

South Eastern Trains suburban units.

Class 482 were delivered to Ruislip Depot in March 1993, where they were commissioned prior to being transferred to the Waterloo & City Line. The first train arrived on 7/8th may 1993. The line was transferred from B.R. to London Transport on 1st April 1994.

Class 483 were the new order for the Isle of Wight. These units replaced the Class 485/486 in 1989. Built 1938 onwards for London Transport. Converted 1989-1990 for Isle of Wight Line.

A much-liked train of mine (EX LT stock). Class 485 (4-vec) MBS-TS-TS-MBS. Class 486 (3-tis) DTS-TS-MBS. Used on the Isle of Wight between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin

These units could run as 2-car sets (2-DMBS) or 5-car sets (2-DMBS with 3-TS vehicles). I only saw as 5 car sets .

As with all things, you don't take photos and then it's too late. Class 488 were converted from MK.2F FOs and TSO. Class 489 were converted from Class 414/3 (2 Hap)

Used between Euston and Waford Junction / Richmond and Broad Street

Introduced in 1939. For use on Merseyrail Northern Line

Built in 1938 and 1956. I went up to Liverpool to see these units and took three films of 36 photos and then found that my camera was not working.

Built 1959 for use from Manchester Victoria to Bury.This line is now part of the Manchester Metro.

Class 506 were built in 1954 for use on the Manchester Piccadilly to Glossop/Hadfield Line. I only got one photo of the 506 as on the day I went to take photos the train I was on from Sheffield broke down and it was dark by the time we arrived in Manchester.

Built for Liverpool's Northern Line in 1978/79. As a replacement for the Class 502 units

Class 508 were first used on the Southern Region. Then moved to the Merseyrail system where they are still working today. Twelve units were refurbished for use on South Eastern Trains. In 2002-2003 three units were refurbished for use by Silverlink.

37694 on a low loader at Temple Mills Depot, Bound for Old Ock Common Depot on 05-12-2006. The loco could not leave depot until after 1800 hours due to its weight.

The above train only made it as far as Temple Mills C.C.E. Yard on 06-01-2004. It moved to Shoeburyness (Pigs Bay storage site) the next day.
